The District of Columbia Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) is hosting a Severe Weather Symposium on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The Severe Weather Symposium will be a moderated discussion that will include panel and speaker sessions.

The Severe Weather Symposium will provide an opportunity for residents, DC Agencies and departments, business and community stakeholders and regional and federal partners to discuss implications and respective roles and responsibilities facing various severe weather events. The goal of the Severe Weather Symposium is to engage all partners so that they are better prepared to address the realities, implications, and areas for improvement in planning and responding to severe weather in the District of Columbia.

Registration begins at 8:00 A.M. during which continental breakfast will be available. HSEMA invites interested stakeholders to participate in this event by pre-registering on HSEMA’s website www.HSEMA.dc.gov or dcsws.org.
The symposium will be at Gallaudet University’s Kellogg Conference Center Ballroom located at 800 Florida Ave. NE, near the New York Avenue Metro Station. There is no registration fee for this event and free parking is available.
